Understand the village and wider Carp area
The City maps a specific Village of Carp planning boundary. Carp mailing addresses also cover a much wider rural area, so the place name alone does not establish proximity to the village core.
Carp is a rural village in the City of Ottawa’s West Carleton-March Ward, on the Carp River. It grew as a service centre for the surrounding agricultural community. The Carp Fair dates to 1863, and the farmers’ market began in 1990. Local services include a pharmacy on Donald B. Munro Drive and the Carp library branch on Carp Road.
